Album: Secrets Keep You Sick
Artist: The Fold
Label: Tooth and Nail
Sounds like: Good Charlotte, Nevertheless

In many ways, The Fold’s second album is the standard fare from Seattle’s Tooth and Nail records. There are two things you would expect: crisp production and groovy artwork.
The Fold’s sound encompasses that of bands like Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte, Foo Fighters, Dashboard Confessional and Nevertheless—energy but a kind of predictability in the unfurling of the songs, over rapid chord changes—but there is variety to keep it interesting, including the less obvious elements of the almost Rebecca St James-style electronic strings of “Faster still” and the heavily processed sound of “Beside you now.” And the artwork? There is some Dadaist collage in between what seem to be blank pages at first but turn out to be both cool and tricky.
