Dave: yeah, that is an interesting twist that could have happened
Dave: what do you think life would be like if they had eaten from the other tree after sinning?
Matt: worse then it is now
Dave: what do you think would really happen if all sinners were immortal?
Matt: well the flood may not have happened becoz they're immortal which means, as my science teacher suggested, they were probably smarter then we r now
Matt: and its quite possible they were messing around with genetics and cloning
Dave: i've heard that suggestion before
Matt: so the world could be filled with a cloned people who just do evil
Dave: imagine having hundreds of years of life to develop your own theories and research. Especially if you were brilliant!
Matt: they would probably think of themselves as gods becoz they 'created' life and therefore do not need God
Dave: have a look at Genesis 6:1-3. Especially vs 3

Dave: do you think that intermarriage (between Cain's kids and Adam’s other descendants) was the only reason God limited life to 120 years?
Matt: no
Dave: you think genetic tinkering may have been another?
Matt: ya
Dave: any others
Matt: murders possibly for small things
Dave: so, what other things jumped out of the study at you?
Matt: number 4 of the thought questions and the 2nd part of it
Dave: "freedom to choose"?
Dave: would you like to be God?
Matt: no
Dave: what do you think it is like to know everything and not interfere?
Matt: pretty hard
Dave: why is freedom of choice so important to God?
Matt: so that everyone who follows Him follows because they want to
Dave: true. Once you give your heart to Jesus and ask Him to rule in your life . . .
Dave: why does he still allow you to sin, even though he knows you don't want to?
Matt: because we still have free choice
Dave: can't we surrender our choices to His control?
Matt: if we did then it may seem to others that we dont have a choice and that would deter people from following God
Dave: true . . . Have a look at Romans 7:15-25. What do you think?
Dave: have you ever thought of yourself as a slave . . . no matter what . . . to either good or evil?
Matt: no
Dave: what choice does that make you want to make?
Matt: to follow God
Dave: have a look at Joshua 24:15. Even the pre-Jesus humans needed a God to serve. Some chose false ones just in order to have someone to rule them. We seem to need a higher power. Why do you think this is?
Matt: we are lost
Dave: Augustine said, "There is a God shaped emptiness inside all of us"
Matt: k
Dave: God made us with a place in our hearts that only He can fill
Matt: yep
Matt: God's a pretty smart guy
